Joyce Milgaard walks out of inquiry
Joyce Milgaard walked out of the inquiry today, saying that from the beginning, the official investigation had not been fair to her son.
CBC.ca stated that Joyce was emotional when she left and that she wasn't sure if she was going to return, although she is supposed to testify at a later date.
I wasn't able to get any more details but if the Milgaard family does not wholeheartedly support this inquiry, it will have been for naught.

Hi Sigrid
Just yesterday somebody said, The way a Inquiry should work is.
Both sides sit down and state there
view and state how their Rights, were violated.
Than recommendations can be made to correct the problem.
Is that right?

Dan, I don't know about that description. I mean, in what way were the rights of the police and prosecutor violated?
I guess theoretically both sides in an inquiry should present their points of view, and examined and cross-examine different witnesses to support their argument.
The inquiry is not about placing blame or liability -- but it is about accountability. No one will be penalized in a criminal way but we are trying to determine what went wrong. Why did an innocent boy of 16 years old get arrested and spend the better part of his young life in prison?
If the Commissioner has a bias against the Milgaards and refuses to recognize the role that the Saskatchewan police and prosecutor played -- not to mention that of former Justice Minister, Kim Campbell -- it's hard to see how any real justice will come out of this process.

Hi Sigrid
Thanks for your answer. If joyce can,t just comment out side the hotel after the inquiry, Does that mean that anybody,s comments could be under review.Common sense should prevail.

Hi Dan,
Joyce's position is different from that of other people. First, she is allowed to say anything that she wants in private to her friends or family, as long as she doesn't go to the media with a complaint about the inquiry. If she has a problem with the inquiry, she's supposed to follow proper channels of taking that directly to the commission council.
That's only because Joyce has standing at the inquiry, meaning that her lawyers are paid for. It wouldn't apply to anyone else like you and me making comments about the inquiry because we don't have standing there -- yet ;-)
Have a good day!

PS Dan, I retract what I said earlier about the police not needing to defend their position. Of course, the police and the entire province of Saskatchewan are under attack in this inquiry, thus, as you said originally, both sides should be able to present their position.
